Playground & Outdoor Fitness

Impact-attenuating safety surfaces for playgrounds, kindergartens, schools, parks, outdoor fitness zones and street workout areas.

Colourful rubber safety tiles across a playground with climbing frames and springers

The starting point for playground surfacing is the free fall height of the equipment. It determines the required critical fall height, tile thickness and recommended system build-up.

Using the equipment data and planned subfloor, we can help identify the appropriate Playzone version. Where colour stability and surface appearance are also important, the versions with a 10 mm EPDM wear layer should be considered.

Key considerations

Critical fall height determines the thickness

The Playzone range runs from 3 cm (1 m critical fall height) to 8 cm (2.2 m). Specify the equipment height first, then pick the tile.

Tested to EN 1176-1 and EN 1177

Relevant test and certification references are listed in the product data sheets. Supporting certificates are available on request.

Drainage and drying

The porous structure and the drainage channels on the underside move rainwater away, so the surface dries quickly after rain.

Colour options for outdoor use

SBR tiles are available in black, grey, red and green. Where colour stability and a more uniform surface are key requirements, Playzone EPDM may be the better option.
